Wildlife & Biodiversity

Kazuma Pan National Park boasts huge diversity, from massive open grasslands, lovely teak forests, big Prince of Wales trees, sizable mopane trees, and the Kasetcheti River system — which, combined, create a unique playground for incredible wildlife and birding diversity in a small, quiet, and protected national park.

Significance in Conservation

As a critical part of the KAZA Transfrontier Conservation Area, Kazuma Pan National Park serves as an important mini-migration corridor for elephants, zebra, wildebeest, and more. The park’s unique vegetation and location allow animals to move freely between Botswana’s Chobe National Park and Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park, as well as the surrounding areas. Kazuma is blessed with good water and grazing land, making it an ideal protected wildlife sanctuary.
